About Me

Hi, my name is Kimm kaZombie and my closet is full of cosplay, vintage clothing, and half finished projects. Besides being a cosplayer I am also; a university graduate, dog mom, and educator. Really most of those things have nothing to do with cosplay, but they still make up a large part of my life and personality.

I started writing my blog in the summer of 2017 when I found that there was a lack of resources and information for cosplayers that weren't directly related to crafting. I wanted a place for larger format rambling that I had for cosplay and related topics. Since then my blog has turned its focus to wider range of topics. This includes things such conventions I attend and the travel that goes along with them, lists of vintage stores I've visited, and occasionally video games that I've been obsessed with. Recently I've been experimenting more with sewing vintage style outfits for myself and writing about my experiences with that.

Like any small child, I always enjoyed playing dress up. In my teens I would use pretty much any excuse to dress up and go out. Roughly 2008 I started annually attending zombie walks in the city that I lived in. It was 2013 when I finally got fully into cosplay and making my own costumes. Since then cosplay, and the community I have built around it, have become such a huge part of my life. It’s become a means to express my love and passion for comics, games, and other media that I adore.

I currently reside in western Canada with my partner Alex, who often recruits me for his LARP or reenactment projects. When not crafting or hunting down vintage clothing I can be found hanging out with my pup Lily, camping with my partner, gardening, or playing way too many video games.
